The ASBEE Sisterhood is an organization made up primarily of, but not limited to, the women of the Anshei Sphard-Beth El Emeth congregation. These women are dedicated to the well-being of the congregation and the continuation of our synagogue as a vibrant, active place for all to enjoy.
The ASBEE Sisterhood sponsors many annual events such as the Chanukah Dinner and the Purim Carnival. The women of the Sisterhood are well-known for their prowess in the kitchen, as is evident of the Cowsher Cafe’s great success during the Kosher BBQ contest and the delicious Hamentashen that are the most sought after in all of Memphis! Although fundraising is important, the ASBEE Sisterhood’s activities are not limited to that; the Lena R. Katz Sisterhood Study Circle provides interesting learning along with a tasty lunch! Our High Holy Day Nursery provides a warm, safe environment so parents can enjoy this spiritual time, and our Re-Ut committee and our College Liason Chairs make sure that we have good communication with all our members in good or sad times.
